Why is this even an olympic sport?
Because Americans need sports to do that cost so much money that nobody else can compete in them. The free stuff we get slammed at (running, throwing, jumping, that sort of thing) while the lessons-intensive/equipment-needing things (swimming, lifting, gymnastics, dressage) we do okay at.
